Frankenstein Or The Modern Prometheus an 1818 novel written by British author Mary Shelley (1797?1851) tells the story of Victor Frankenstein a young scientist who created intelligent creatures from unorthodox scientific experiments. Shelley began writing this story at the age of 18 and the first edition was published anonymously in London on January 1 1818. She was 20 years old. [2] Her name first appeared in the second edition published in Paris in 1821.

Mary Shelley is an English novelist playwright essayist biographer and travel writer. He also edited and introduced the work of her husband Percy Vichy Shelley a romantic poet and philosopher. Political philosopher William Godwin daughter of philosopher and feminist Mary Woolstoncraft.
