셜록 홈즈의 귀환은 아서 코난 도일이 1903-1904 년에 처음 출판 한 13 개의 셜록 홈즈 이야기를 모은 1905 년 컬렉션입니다. 이 이야기는 영국의 Strand Magazine과 미국의 Collier s에 게재되었습니다.

저자소개

아서 코난 도일은 명탐정 홈즈를 창조해내며 애매한 자리에 위치했던 추리 소설을 고전의 자리에 올려놓은 장본인이다. 100년이 넘은 시간이 지났지만 전 세계적으로 셜록 홈즈 는 드라마 영화 뮤지컬 연극 등 다양한 소재로 제작이 되며 팬들의 사랑을 받고 있다. 그는 심령학에 관해 연설하던 중 심장마비로 생을 마쳤다. 숨지면서 두 번째 부인에게 당신 멋져(You are wonderful)! 라는 마지막 말을 남겼다고 한다. 그의 소설을 좋아하는 팬들을 도일리언이라 불리며 주인공 셜록홈즈 또는 작품 자체에 대한 열광적인 팬을 가리켜 영국에서는 홈지언(Holmesian) 미국에서는 셜로키언(Sherlockian)이라고 한다.
