제목이 마녀들의 딸들이고 ,Miss Temperance Tribbey 와 Sidney Martin 의 이야기를 그린 연애소설, 하지만 책의 마지막 부분을 보면 기독교가 나오고 순교자와 배심원이 나오는 걸로 보아서 결국 이책도 마녀에서 기독교로 전환되고있음.

be broken than to be a tile upon the housetop and remain.”
