저자소개

Charles Dickens (1812-1870)
Charles Dickens was a social reporter, journalist and writer. He was born in 1812 near Portsmouth, England. He started working at the age of 12 because of his father's debt and became a newspaper reporter at the age of 22. He left behind many autobiographical works such as 「David Copperfield」, 「A Tale of Two Cities」 and 「Great Expectations」, which strongly emphasized various problems in society from the standpoint of the poor common people. Dickens died in June 1870.
