Alexander Yang is a rising junior currently attending The Hotchkiss School, a private co-educational boarding school in Lakeville, Connecticut. He was born in Los Angeles, California, but lived in Korea for about eight years, attending a few international schools. He moved back to Irvine, California during the fourth grade, and attended The Eaglebrook School, an all boys junior boarding school in Deerfield, Massachusetts from eighth grade. Alex developed an interest for the arts at a young age, drawing comic books and writing short stories. These have grown to become a few of his passions, and now he enjoys drawing and painting, and writing stories and suspense fiction novels. Aside from writing and visual arts, some of Alex’s hobbies include producing music, singing, playing tennis, and socializing with his peers. During his time at Hotchkiss, Alex has received two Honorable Mention Awards for Excellence in Writing and Visual Arts from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards of 2014, and is planning to participate as a writer and illustrator for the Typhoon Club Magazine, one of Hong Kong’s leading monthly magazine for students. At school, Alex currently works as a cartoonist for The Hotchkiss Record, Hotchkiss’s student newspaper.
